Plant description

Perennial plants 30-100 cm in
. Stems erect, simple, sometimes branched at the top. Flowers is
simple. Corolla purple; Filaments with purple hairs. Fruit - egg-shaped
capsule, mostly naked.

Blooms in the early and mid-summer.

Diffusion area

Russia, Europe, Ukraine,
Siberia, Central Asia.


Grows on hay fields, in
orchards, uncultivated lands, glades and on road edges, near rivers and,
often, on dry soils. Common in the entire country.

Therapeutic actions

Recommended for clinical trials
as a cardiotonic, diuretic and laxative. Infusion of the flowers is used as
anti-inflammatory. Tonic, anti-inflammatory, stimulates the activity of the
heart, intestinal peristaltic increases diuresis.

katalpol, saponins, verbastsenin, tannins, coumarins, vitamin C,
